McAdam Architects is driven by a commitment to creating long-term value through highly refined, high-performance design solutions. We focus on delivering thoughtful, innovative architecture that deliberately challenges the conventions of contemporary design and planning.
Established in 2002 by James McAdam and Tanya Kalinina, the practice operates across a diverse spectrum of typologies, including urban planning, commercial and retail developments, bespoke residential design, and high-specification retro-fit and adaptive re-use projects.
Prior to founding the studio, James McAdam and Tanya Kalinina were directors at Alsop Architects from 1993 to 2001. During this period, they were responsible for the design and execution of several landmark projects, including the award-winning Millennium House and the Deutsche Bank CIS Headquarters.
Beyond formal commission work, the studio remains deeply invested in the broader progression of the architectural discipline. Through continuous engagement in academic research, professional education, and cross-cultural initiatives, the practice actively contributes to the ongoing development and discourse in the global profession.
